Never Give Up! LiveStrong!

Was watching Oprah b4 i came to work this afternoon. (this is one of the privileges of having to work afternoon shift i guess..haha). The particular episode, she had Lance Amstrong as her guest. Now for the benefit of those ppl who have no idea who is Lance Armstrong, he is the guy who had survived the all-time-killing-disease, cancer, and proceeding winning the championship of Tour De France for 6 times!! in a row. Oprah was interviewing him bout his experience while battling the cancer. And fyi, according to Mr Lance himself, prior to the med check-up, he already experienced cough with blood!, testicals grows to a size of a lemon, blurry vision, and headahce! and yet he thought this is just a normal sign of atheletics sickness syndrome. Never drawn to him that is was goona be a major killer disease. So when he actually did went for the results of the med checkup, then only he realised what he has gotten himself into. According to the report, the disease had spread from the lungs to the heart and went up to the brain!! (gosh!) and he only has bout 40% chances of survival if he decide to go for operation and chemotherapy. 40% chances of survival guys!.

He was strong in spirit and will power. He told himself he WANTS to live! that he will fight this illness. He went for the surgery, went for the chemo treatment and within the 2 years, he was miraculously survived! Clean from cancer. How? what could be the formula ? Is jsut very uplifting hearing him and telling the audience. The power of believing yourself, never give up no matter how hard the road you are heading. His story and experience is sjust so inspiring and powerful.

There is always a solution to everything. i can relate to that, although i must say the problem that i went thru is not as BIG as what Mr Lance gone thru. But then again, if you are out of job for the entire 5 months and knowing the fact you have yr family and other obligation and responsibilities, at the end of the day, u just wanna make sure you hv a good live. Mind you, b4 i got this current job, the idea of clinging on to other job is just so hard. Imagine, one job offering, but thousands applications attached to it. What is the chances you getting it? And the neverending time when u have to keep on applying although there is no call or watsoever to ask you for an interview. It can be that bad. There are times i almost gave up the idea of finding a job and just work on my parttime instead. Luckily i have friends who knock some sense into me, and after that dry and long 5 months, i finally got a full-time job for myself. Is was really one of the low phase in my live for last year. And i will never ever forget that experienced.

To Yvonne Fong, if you are reading this, i know you are a strong gurl. If Lance Amrstrong can get thru it, so can you! To my loyal readers, you can read about her at her own blog http://www.yvonnefoong.com/archives/2005/11/heart4hope-t-shirts-on-sale/ . Yeap, never give up! LiveStrong!
